Katherine Williams says she is a "lapsed
Existentialist who grew up mostly in South Carolina, where she hung on to
Literature for dear life". She has been featured at Beyond Baroque
Literary Arts Center, KXLU FM 88.9, and the Los Angeles Poetry Festival.
She once took first place in the Midnight Special Poetry Slam, and for a
poem published in Beyond the Valley of the Contemporary Poets, is a
finalist for the 2003 Pushcart Prize.
Richard Garcia is the author of Rancho Notorious, BOA Editions, 2001, and The Flying Garcias, University of Pittsburgh Press. His poems have recently appeared in Mid-American Review, The Colorado Review, and the anthology, Urban Nature, published by Milkweed Press. He is an instructor with the MFA program in Creative Writing at Antioch University Los Angeles, and also California State University, Long Beach. He has been the poet-in-residence at The Long Beach Museum of Art and at Children's Hospital in Los Angeles.
