7/30: Consult Yourself

"I'm speaking with myself, number one, because I have a very good brain and I've said a lot of things."

--Donald Trump

Who better to give you advice than yourself?  Am I right?  Of course I am, I just asked myself.

So, your job is to write a poem giving yourself the best advice you've ever received.  Change your life for the better.  Make the world a better place starting with yourself.  Look deep into the mirror and find a way to convince you to love yourself.

Take a look at Someday I'll Love Ocean Vuong by Ocean Vuong over at the New Yorker.

For bonus points, feel free to check out Katy by Frank O'Hara and an explanation on how two degrees of separation between a poet and a poem can make something beautiful happen.
